Updates x Upgrades | Apple Reveals Gender-Neutral & Inclusive Emojis

An inclusive expansion!

Our modern world is full of updates, upgrades, and more. Technology changes at a rapid pace, and today, we take a closer look at one of the more recent changes to tech. Apple has just revealed a barrage of new emojis as part of its iOS 13.2 update. The new updated pack of emojis includes 60 different designs, with many of the emojis focusing on inclusion and diversity. The new designs feature interracial couples and gender-neutral characters. They also allow users to select multiple skin tones in group characters.

The update even features disability-themed emoji options. These designs boast a seeing-eye dog, characters in wheelchairs, and prosthetic limbs. Other emojis set to arrive include a waffle, butter, an otter, a sloth, an ice cube, and a yawning smiley face. The iOS 13.2 update also adds a “deep fusion” camera mode to the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. This tool uses AI to improve image quality. Other update features include optional Siri recording, allowing users to better control whether to share audio recordings with Apple developers.

Check out a few of the new emojis in the images and head over to Emojipedia for more details. In the meantime, be sure to keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the tech sector coming soon.
