Vickie Vainionpää Reveals ‘Software’ In New York City

Montreal-based artist Vickie Vainionpää has taken over The Hole NYC. The artist has created an immersive art experience that uses organic shapes that create unique forms. ‘Software’ comes from a series of paintings that includes generative code. By plotting points on an x, y, and z-axis, the artist merges technology with her oil paintings on canvas.

The directions are altered by applying textures and creating shadows made with three-dimensional composites of multiple splines. The shapes examine the relationship between man and machine, exploring the physical world and virtual reality simultaneously. ‘Software’ is a colorful, unique experience that is on display at The Hole NYC’s Walker Street location until June 18th.

Take a look at the selection of images and head over to The Hole NYC to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news, art exhibitions, and art releases.
