The good folks over at Volkswagen are back in the news. Today the automaker returns with some big news, unveiling the Golf R “20 Years” edition. The vehicle comes loaded with R-style equipment, including a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor that produces 328 hp. The engine has a bevy of upgrades, including turbocharger preloading, enabling the power to develop faster when accelerating. According to Volkswagen, the “20 Years” edition boasts a 0-62 mph time of just 4.6 seconds. The ride boasts an array of stylish features too.
These details include a distinct “20” badge and the “R” marker. Elsewhere you will find blue design accents, while buyers can opt for either blue or black wheels, depending on the exterior color. The model also comes with a roof spoiler and VW’s Estoril wheels. The Golf R “20 Years” gets a retooled interior as well. Carbon trim highlights the visual quality of the design, while sport seats are adorned in Nappa leather and embroidered with blue “R” logos.
Word is that the first Golf R “20 Years” editions will arrive in showrooms later this year and are expected to run until sometime in mid-2023.
