The DMV representative known as Wale is back! After serving up The Imperfect Storm in June, the wordsmith is back with his seventh studio album. This past Friday, Wale unleashed ‘Folarin 2.’ The album serves as a sequel to his 2012 mixtape, following in the same vein with some familiar-sounding material. The project includes a handful of standout material, offering a dose of Wale’s uncanny ability behind the mic.
Wale recently opened up about the album and its inspiration. He stated: “My daughter is talking to her mother one time and she was like, ‘Respect the kids. Respect the kids.’ They were playing, but she was being serious, and that’s part of it.” Wale added, “The inner child of me, you know, “Still Tippin’,” “Vivrant Thing,” “I Need a Girl,” all these samples are coming from back in the day when I was a kid. I’m sampling way more than normal, so it feels like a mixtape. I’m giving people their flowers, and I’m getting mine.”
‘Folarin 2’ comes loaded with fifteen tracks and includes features from Rick Ross, Boyz II Men, Jamie Foxx, and Ant Clemons.
