Wall Art! Limited-Edition Raymond Pettibon Decks At The Skateroom

The creative artist Raymond Pettibon is back in the news feed. This time around, the artist’s surfer-themed works are being displayed in unique form. The artist and The Skateroom have aligned for the second time, offering up a set of six decks that blend art and culture. After pairing up for two limited editions of 250: No Title (You have a clear…), 1990, and No Title (The bright flatness), 2003, the two have returned.

This time around, they further explore the surf them, offering No Title (I see the…), 2019. The art pulls inspiration from Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic wave, showing off nature’s power over man. Pettibon’s work is full of surfer imagery. The artist would observe surfers on Venice Beach, turning his experiences into stunning works of art on canvas.

Much of his work referenced cultural figures such as Charles Manson, though his surfing images express serenity, awe, and nature’s power. No Title (I see the…), 2019 features a small surfer, which is seen on the fourth deck’s bottom. The scale and power of the wave make the surfer insignificant while showcasing the sea’s greatness.

This limited skateboard edition of 50 is hand-signed on deck by the cult artist himself. The set is available on The Skateroom’s website and will retail for $3,000. This will help retail for $3,000. Check out the new work of art in the images and head over to The Skateroom to find out more right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the intersection of art and culture.
