Wall Art | Yoshitomo Nara Art Decks Via The Skateroom

The Japanese artist, Yoshitomo Nara, is the latest to showcase his talents with The Skateroom. Known for turning skate decks into stunning works of art, The Skateroom returns with a new selection of limited designs. The new collection celebrates the artist’s retrospective at LACMA. The two have come together to offer three limited skateboard editions: two triptychs and a standalone skate deck. The designs for the series were inspired by a trio of major works from his presentation.

The works include Untitled, Alone in the wind, and Peace Girl. The decks feature Nara’s pastel-hued children with interesting and compelling expressions. These are seen across the skate decks, providing a unique look and eye-catching appeal worth adding to any wall. Through the collaboration, The Skateroom will use proceeds from the sale to support global initiatives dedicated to empowering youth through skateboarding and education.

Charles-Antoine Bodson, The Skateroom founder, spoke about the collaboration. He stated: “The Skateroom is thrilled to be partnering for the first time with Yoshitomo Nara and the LACMA. This collaboration is a unique opportunity to feature some of Nara’s powerful work in the form of responsibly made art skateboard editions, especially with the goal of empowering youth all over the world.”

The new skateboard editions start at $250 USD and are currently available on The Skateroom’s website. Take a look at the new editions in the images below and pick up your favorites immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming soon.
