Last week, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland reignited their friendly beat battle. The battles originated back in 2017 but kicked back up recently. Well, in light of their recent battle, the legendary Timbaland has returned with something for our listening enjoyment. Today the iconic beatsmith returns with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Timbaland Remix).” The track was initially teased a few months prior, but now we get to check out the full track.
The remix takes on a completely different feel from the original, equipped with punchy drums and these ethereal melodic elements. The combination provides a solid soundscape for Whitney’s vocals. As usual, her voice captivates and compels, doing so over top of this slick, smooth, modern backdrop. The result is nothing short of incredible and something we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on. The remix is a fitting ode to the songstress and an incredible clip of her 1987 classic. Timbaland always delivers when it comes to his instrumentals, and this remix is further proof. The track is a drastic step away from the original, though Whitney’s incredible vocals shine through flawlessly. This is certainly one worth adding to your listening selection today.
