The apparel brand Roots of Fight are back. The imprint returns to celebrate legendary baseball players and teams with new additions to their Negro League collection. The lineup was created in collaboration with CC Sabathia, and the label has added to the collection with a host of new pieces. The new lifestyle items include teams such as the New York Black Yankees, Kansas City Monarchs, and the Homestead Grays. In the process, Roots of Fight pays homage to iconic athletes such as Jackie Robinson, Josh Gibson, Satchel Paige, and others.
Working closely with World Series champion Cy Young Award winner and one of the famed ‘Black Aces,’ CC Sabathia, the powerful collection does more than showcasing these iconic players and their game-changing efforts. Proceeds from all sales will benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum’s efforts to preserve and celebrate the rich history of African American baseball and its significance in the social advancement of America.
The former players featured in the collection will find proceeds also going directly to them or their estates. The new drops include the Kansas City Monarchs collection, which contains unique team details throughout. The capsule consists of a KC Jackie sweatshirt and Satchel hoody. The Black Yankees capsule pays respect to the team and icons such as Satchel Paige, Ted “Double Duty” Radcliffe, and the great Fats Jenkins.
