Ever since making his way into the rap game, Chris Rivers has been immediately associated with his father, Big Pun. While it’s a gift, the comparisons can also be a curse. Chris has been carving his own lane over the years, showing off his own lyrical prowess along the way. He returns to the interwebs today with a brand new album. The project is titled ‘G.I.T.U.’ marking his Mellow Music debut. The wordsmith provides not only a dose of his lyrical talents but so much more.
Chris Rivers recently spoke about the project. He stated: “G.I.T.U. (Greatest In The Universe) is a title that fully encompasses the feel of this body of work, because it traverses my mental state, loves had and lost, stories of overcoming obstacles; both internal and external while learning to love myself and becoming the best version of who I could be.”
The project is impressive to say least. Mr. Rivers cooks up sixteen new tracks, also boasting singles like “Sincerely Me” and “In the Morning.” He holds things down on his own, except for a few features from Oswin Benjamin, Anthiny King, and others. Chris opened up even more about the project. He stated: “Both as a person and an artist, this record breaks through the boundaries of my personal limitations. Everyone’s world is their own, everyone has their own universe that they are in control of. And in mine—I’m undoubtedly the Greatest in The Universe.”
