Court Style | adidas Embraces Creativity With The Harden Vol. 4

adidas Basketball returns and they are bringing creativity back to the court. The brand with the three stripes and their basketball department are back to introduce the Harden Vol. 4. The sneakers come inspired by James Harden’s creative freedom on and off the court. The silhouette is the lightest Harden signature shoe to-date, boasting a LIGHTSTRIKE midsole cushioning. The sneakers arrive in a limited-edition colorway from the brand’s new partnership with streetwear designer Daniel Patrick.

The Harden Vol. 4 is the first in his collection to feature LIGHTSTRIKE, the new super-light midsole. The midsole provides the perfect balance of lightweight cushioning and on-court responsiveness. This all comes together for full movement support and improved step-in comfort without any extra weight. A distinct midfoot band provides added stability, enhancing an updated traction pattern that offers incredible grip. This design is perfect for Harden as seamlessly executes his elusive movements. The new sneaker will also feature a bold color palette and mix of premium materials across the upper.

Harden Vol. 4!

Harden spoke about the sneakers in-depth. He stated: “The process to create the Vol. 4 was a true collaboration with the adidas design team that allowed me to voice my creativity and to blend different ideas into one shoe that would showcase both my style of play on the court and my sense of style walking out of the tunnel”. Harden went on to add, “Daniel Patrick has been setting trends with his use of bold looks and bright colors, so partnering with Daniel was the perfect way to highlight the design of the Vol. 4 and bring sport, fashion, and culture together.” Starting on November 1st, the Rockets guard will be sporting a limited-edition Harden Vol. 4 colorway designed in partnership with the artist. Daniel Patrick and adidas will also release a larger spring/summer collection, including footwear and apparel. That isn’t coming until early 2020.

Daniel also opened up about working with adidas and James Harden. He stated: “This partnership with adidas and James Harden is the perfect way to expand and challenge my creativity in the two areas I’m most passionate about, fashion and sport.” The designer also said, “The look of a basketball shoe is just as important as the performance in today’s game, so we made sure to push the boundaries in both. We all worked closely together to make sure the swagger and style that James carries was brought to life with this Harden Vol . 4 colorway and through the larger adidas Basketball collection to come.”

The Harden Vol. 4 will be available beginning October 12th with “Barbershop,” followed by “Pink Lemonade,” available on October 26th. Other iterations including “Candy Paint” will arrive on October 31st and “Cookies & Cream” on November 15th.
