On-Air! Vans Launches Livestream Broadcast “Channel 66”

The good folks over at Vans are known for fostering self-expression and creativity. Today the iconic imprint is back, as Vans has officially launched Channel 66. The new platform is a digital programming broadcast that will feature the best new voices and sounds in music. The goal is to reimagine event experiences and grassroots programs, creating a space where community radio meets public access TV.

The label will spotlight unique heritage and subcultures, delivering live audio and video broadcast from New York City, Chicago, Mexico City, and Los Angeles. Programming will include DJ sets, curated radio shows, talks, workshops, and musical performances across music, art, action sports, and community. Programming highlights include Chessboxing with GZA, Max Fish Chronicles telling bar stories from NYC, Afropunk’s Channel Interference, and more.

GZA recently spoke about the opportunity. The MC stated: “It’s an honor to collaborate with a cool hip brand like Vans and engage with others in such a setting that I am familiar and comfortable with, which is playing chess. Many life lessons can be learned from the game itself. Channel 66 went live on Monday, February 8th, and will continue to broadcast.
