Own An Icon | Banksy’s Show Me the Monet

Back in 2015, the world-renowned Banksy unveiled Show Me the Monet. The piece was part of an exhibition in London, drawing direct inspiration from Claude Monet’s famous The Water Lily Pond. However, being the satirical artist that he is, Banksy put his own touches on the iconic work of art. The legendary piece is seen with an orange traffic cone and shopping carts clogging up the pond.

The piece of art has become one of Banksy’s most famous, and it could be yours. The word comes down today that the iconic piece of art is going up for auction via Sotheby’s. The painting boasts a pre-sale estimate of between $3.8-6.4 million USD. The auction is slated to take place alongside the Modernités auction in Paris in Sotheby’s third live stream auction event, “Modernités / Contemporary.”

Take a look at this legendary and eye-catching work of art, Show Me the Monet in the image up top. Find out more about the auction and place your bid now at Sotheby’s. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming very soon.
