Time & Space! Swatch Launches A New NASA Space Collection

Swatch has been offering stylish, functional timepieces for decades. Today the iconic watch brand is back, launching a new collection inspired by the creative minds of NASA. The latest collection celebrates the innovation of NASA, doing so with five new timepieces with their own space-age Bioceramic case materials. Three of the five new watches in the Space Collection are inspired by the uniforms worn by astronauts.

The timepieces match the suit’s hues with soft-touch Bioceramic, which is two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced plastic. The collection includes the 47mm Big Bold Chrono Extravehicular, which was influenced by NASA’s iconic white spacesuit. The watch’s glass is crafted from bio-sourced plastic.

The second timepiece is the 47mm Big Bold Chrono Launch. This watch is inspired by NASA’s Advanced Crew Escape Suit, boasting a bright orange hue. The Big Bold Jumpsuit references the “everyday go-to blue jumpsuits astronauts wear for press conferences or working in the NASA facility.” The final two watches include the Take Me to The Moon “New Gent,” which is host to a transparent case, and the Space Race “Gent,” with a mirror-effect dial.

Take a closer look at the Space Collection in the images and head over to Swatch to find out more. The collection is set to arrive on June 5th. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more timepieces, watches, and other style accessories coming soon.
