Flavorful Footwear! The Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon”

Air Max Day 2021 is coming, and the good folks over at Nike are getting ready for something special. Today the sportswear giant is back with some big news. Soon the brand will re-release Dave Ortiz‘s iconic Air Max 90 “Bacon” from 2004. The sneakers were initially created in partnership with Ortiz and Chris Keefe‘s now-shuttered Dave’s Quality Meat.

Inspired by the hues found in a strip of bacon, the colorway has become one of the most iconic to adorn the Air Max 90 ever. The retro marks its first re-release ever. The sneaker features “Sail” and “Straw” as the two primary colors, which are seen on the leather toebox and quarter.

However, it’s the sneaker’s rich red midfoot section and toe cap that offers a bold touch. The sneakers are further accented with pink on the Swooshes and tongue alike. Brown is seen on the eye stays, midfoot window, tongue tag, and heel badge. The design is on par with the original, though some have noted that the base colors seem a bit lighter than the original. The sneakers feature two-tone tan and brown midsoles with a pink Air Max unit. The shoes also come with a trio of lace options.

Take a closer look at the eye-catching Air Max 90 “Bacon” in the images and look for them to drop on Nike SNKRS come Air Max Day, March 26th. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding sneakers and footwear coming soon.
