The beautiful and talented Kehlani is back. The songstress returns with a brand new single for our listening enjoyment, cooking up something smooth and impressive yet again. After spending much of the year working with artists like Kiana Ledé, producer Amorphous, T-Pain, Lil Durk, Pink Sweat$, and Ant Clemons, Kehlani returns with something of her own. “Altar” arrives after she announced that the follow-up to her sophomore album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t is on the way.
The new track is something fresh and unique, while Kehlani indicated her next project, Blue Water Road, will arrive sometime in Winter. “Altar” is the project’s first single, which certainly has us excited about what the rest of the album might sound like. Kehlani spoke about the track and its inspiration. She stated: “Understanding grief and death has been a journey. I’ve gained a lot of angels in my life, but the last year has showed me that even after people have passed on, if I choose to, I can have an even closer relationship.” She added, “I thank my angels, my guides, all those who walk with me for allowing me to see them, feel them, hear them in full. I honor you in all I do. This is my offering.”
