An Icon Revamped | The Nike Blazer Slip “Planet of Hoops”

The good folks over at Nike are back. This time around, they return with a new footwear design worth adding to the collection. While they also expand the “Planet of Hoops” pack. The pack aims to showcase basketball’s universal appeal. Today the Nike Blazer Slip joins the pack, offering a classic-meets-modern aesthetic in the process. This Blazer Slip is different from past iterations, keeping things quite simple while offering astral accents along the way.

The sneakers are crafted with a white leather upper, creating a trim and sleek silhouette in the process. The laceless throat has been left bare, while perforations on the raised “eye stays” add a nice texture. This simple and stylish look is a perfect base for the “Planet of Hoops” details. The lateral swooshes are seen in navy blue, also rocking a speckled print that’s replicated on the blue foxing, blue half of the two-tone midsole and grey forefoot bumpers. The splatter patterns glow brightly in the dark, ensuring an eye-catching appeal at any time.

The medial sides feature a perforated swoosh, adding a “The Court Planet of Hoops” hit in purple and green. There is also a curved red arrow that points to a green star on the left shoe’s toe box. “Planet 80016S” is embroidered across both heels in silver thread, adding a unique contrast. The sneakers are finished off with printed insoles, while the outsoles are seen with a simple white rubber.

Take a closer look at the Nike Blazer Slip “Planet of Hoops” in the images below and look for the sneakers to arrive via Nike SNKRS China on May 15. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more sneakers and streetwear selections coming soon.
