Bringing together style and art is nothing new, but very few do it like COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT and KAWS. The two have reunited once again, this time revealing a playful new range of apparel for our wearing needs. The new collection includes an array of bold colors and eye-catching designs. The collaboration pulls from KAWS’ Michelin Man-inspired Chum character, boasting other signature figures and his infamous ‘xx’ signature.
The figures and designs include shirts, t-shirts, bags, and sweats, boasting re-worked illustrations from the first collection. One of the many highlights from the range is a patterned lime-green shirt covered in a KAWS print.
The artist recently revealed an 18-foot bronze-built sculpture at Rockefeller Center in New York City, which comes to life as one of his renowned “COMPANION” characters. The piece, entitled “SHARE,” is part of his “WHAT PARTY” exhibit that is currently on display at the Brooklyn Museum.
