Art x Support | James Jean Auctions Rare ‘Pomegranate’ Print To Support Racial Justice

Art is a great way to showcase the life and times in which we live. While artists have been using their craft to give back and shed light on social issues, now is an important time to do so. We’ve seen an array of artists using their creativity to give back, and today we get another example. The one and only, James Jean returns to help benefit justice organizations as the nation protests. The artist will be auctioning off a rare artist proof of his first woodcut print, Pomegranate.

All of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. The woodcut print features a figure surrounded by pomegranate trees. The image features a rich combination of blues and reds, while the fruit’s juice covers the figure’s body. The image also features seeds coming out of the pomegranates and bursting from the plants. The print measures 25.5 by 35.4 centimeters and is up for auction now.

Head over to James Jean’s Instagram page to place your bid and stay tuned for more unique ways you can help out. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the art department coming very soon.
