B.o.B. – Pennywise

Halloween us officially upon us and the ATL’s very own, B.o.B. is back. Today the wordsmith returns to the interwebs with a brand new single entitled “Pennywise.” The track gets its name from Stephen King’s horror novel, It, though it’s not the most haunting track you’ve heard. Bobby Ray shows off his lyrical prowess, getting one hell of an instrumental in doing his thing. Over top of this smooth backdrop, which is driven by the sample of a male soprano singer.

The sample is arranged to resemble a violin over which B.o.B. delivers a dose of his lyrical prowess. The song might not have the Halloween vibe we all are looking for; it’s something new from B.o.B., which we’re happy to hear. It’s been far too long! The track is more of a pun than a Halloween themed track as “Pennywise” refers to how his “pen is wise.” B.o.B. raps: “Kill a bottle of gin, ginacide (genocide) They say he flopped, keep that pesticide (pest aside) That .357 what I rest beside Blow a little smoke, keep the rest aside.”

Take a few minutes from your busy day and check out this infectious new single, “Pennywise” in the stream below. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more new music arriving soon.
