While many of us probably associate sunglasses with the warmer seasons of the year, a good pair is essential year-round. Oakley knows all about stunning shades, creating iconic sunglasses for decades. While Oakley designs are functional, they generally lend themselves to the more stylish side of things. Oakley is looking to change the game a bit, stepping out of the “comfort zone” while creating some new and functional.
The brand is launching its first mountaineering sunglass. Dubbed the Clifden, the sunglasses combine Oakley’s latest optical technologies and an array of components. Designed with outdoor adventure in mind, the new shades will stand up to anything you throw at them. The sunglasses feature additional protection against the elements. Details include removable side shields and a bridge blocker to protect you from wind and glare. The lightweight 20″ stainless steel leash will keep the glasses attached under any circumstance.
The frames are offered with a variety of Prizm lens options, including a category 4 lens for the brightest conditions. It may be Oakley’s first foray into mountaineering, but they certainly know eye-wear.
