Another day, another new addition to the YEEZY family of footwear. Today the brand with the three stripes, adidas, is back. They arrive with a first look at the YEEZY QNTM “Barium.” The sneaker marks the QNTM’s first mass-market release, and they will arrive in a full run of family sizes. The sneakers originally made their debut during NBA All-Star Weekend, offering a blend of high-fashion and hoops in the process. The sneaker gets its name, “Barium,” from an alkaline earth metal that shimmers in either grey or olive green.
The YEEZY QNTM features a sleek upper that boasts three unique and defining pieces. The forefoot and midfoot are seen with a wavy marbled grey exoskeleton which sits on a grey synthetic base. The throat and collar are made of a black neoprene-style material, accented with taped detailing for a modern look. The heel offers a bit of extra structure, doing so with a two-tone grey and silver counter. Finishing things off are midsoles are made up of semi-translucent rubber and contain a full-length BOOST footbed. The outsoles are the only traditional detail, rocking a wavy herringbone traction pattern in the process.
