Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ Will Arrive On Streaming Services On 4/20

A few days ago, hip-hop fans got some big news. The word came down that Dr. Dre’s solo debut album, ‘The Chronic,’ will soon be added and archived in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry. Now, Dr. Dre is back in the news again as it has been announced that the album will finally make its way to all digital streaming platforms. Chris Taylor, eOne’s Global President, Music & Live, released a statement.

He noted: “Fans now have another reason to celebrate on what has become a national holiday, celebrating all things cannabis-related – where legally allowed and in moderation of course.” The album is slated for release on 4/20, fittingly. Mr. Taylor went on to add, “Working with the Death Row catalog is like working with the legendary recordings of Elvis, Chuck Berry, and the Beatles. These historic artifacts should be heard by all music lovers, and we are so happy Dr. Dre has opened this door, so everyone can experience the brilliance of this seminal work.”

So mark your calendars folks, ‘The Chronic’ will be blowing through speakers across the globe very soon. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest installment of our weekly playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound.’
