The beautiful and incredibly talented, Halsey, is back. The songstress is working on a new project, though it’ll be a few months before we hear it. Not to worry, as she returns with a brand new single entitled “Clementine” for our listening enjoyment. The track serves as the third single from her impending album, Maniac, which isn’t slated to arrive until early 2020. The new single, “Clementine,” arrives after “Without Me” and “Graveyard, which premiered at Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty show just weeks ago.
Halsey decided to unleash “Clementine” in honor of her 25th birthday, and the track is certainly one worth checking out. The track is a stripped-down number, driven by a simple piano melody that comes paired with some sparse percussion. The result is smooth and subtle, quite impressive, and infectious in the process. The track finds Halsey as she is “constantly havin’ a breakthrough… or a breakdown.”
She sings, “In my world, I’m seven feet tall,” yet “people on the street don’t know my name.” The track is full of contradictions, while the chorus finds Halsey echoing herself in disparate voices. The track also comes to life in a music video, which finds Halsey joined by her brother in doing some interpretive dancing.
