The creative minds over at Supreme are back at it yet again. This time around, they continue to share new looks for Spring and Summer with a new collaboration with Burberry. Since 1856, when 21-year-old former draper’s apprentice Thomas Burberry founded the British luxury fashion house, the label has created an array of outstanding styles.
Focusing on outerwear, Burberry was founded with a principle that clothing should be designed to protect people from the weather. Burberry invented gabardine, a lightweight yet hard-wearing waterproof fabric, quickly lauded for its protective properties, natural ventilation, and durability. The label went out to outfit explorers and military personnel, including Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen and his team, who became the first to reach the South Pole with a Burberry gabardine tent and clothing. The fashion house eventually developed its outwear offerings and ready-to-wear options and accessories.
Celebrating that longstanding history, the brand has aligned with Supreme for something unique. The collaboration builds on Burberry’s place in modern luxury, offering a dose of streetwear sensibility. The collection includes a Trench Coat, Down Puffer Jacket, Denim Trucker Jacket, Rugby, Hooded Sweatshirt, Jean, Denim Short, and T-Shirt. There is also a selection of accessories, such as a Crusher, 6-Panel, and Skateboard, that expands on the themes found in the apparel.
The eye-catching new collection is sure to move quickly, so act fast. The range will see a global release, available exclusively via the streetwear imprint’s website on March 10, 11 a.m. EDT in the United States and March 12, 11 a.m. JST in Japan. However, the 6-Panel and Crusher hats will be available later.
