Labor Day Drinks Recipies Pt5 | A Few Good Drinks

Frogroni

Ingredients:
* 3 strawberries
* 1 cup crushed ice
* 3/4 ounce Campari
* 2 ounces gin
* 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
* 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from 1 or 2 lemons)
* 1 1/4 ounces simple syrup (see NOTE)
* Twist of orange peel, for garnish

How to make a Frogroni:
* Chill a tall glass while you do these next few steps.
* Wash and hull two of the strawberries.
* Place in a blender, along with the ice, Campari, gin, vermouth, lemon juice, and simple syrup; puree until smooth.
* Pour into the chilled glass; garnish with the remaining strawberry and the twist of orange peel.

** NOTE: To make your own simple syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a low boil, then cool. Transfer to a heatproof container. Once it has cooled to room temperature, cover tightly and refrigerate until chilled through; store indefinitely.

Cave Creek

INGREDIENTS
* 1 ¼ ounces Mister Katz’s Rock & Rye
* 1 ounce Glenlivet 12-Year Scotch whiskey
* ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
* ½ ounce high-quality grenadine
* ¼ ounce Campari
* Orange twist, for garnish

Instructions to make a Cave Creek:
* In a cocktail shaker three-quarters filled with ice, combine all the liquid ingredients and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
* Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice.
* Garnish with the orange twist, and serve with a straw.

The V.S.O.P Rickey

Ingredients for the V.S.O.P. Rickey: 
* 2 oz Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège cognac
* 1⁄2 Lime
* 3 Raspberries
* 2 Lime wheels Moët & Chandon Champagne, to top Garnish:

How to make a V.S.O.P. Rickey:
* Place the lime wheel and ice in a Collins glass.
* Muddle the lime and raspberries in a shaker.
* Add the cognac with ice to the shaker and shake.
* Double-strain into the Collins glass and top with the Champagne.
* Garnish with an additional lime wheel.
