She’s back! Leikeli47 made her return once again this weekend, unleashing some brand new music for our listening pleasures. The wordsmith announced the third and final installment in her “Beauty Series” trilogy and served up a new single called “BITM.” The Los Angeles-based wordsmith shows off her talents yet again, providing another impressive addition to her outstanding catalog. Her upcoming album, Shape Up, follows 2017’s Wash & Set and 2018’s Acrylic.
In 2019, she opened up to The Fader about the project and its inspiration. Leikeli47 stated: “I wanted to create a body of work that spoke to not looking like what you actually are going through,” adding, “When we’re in our nail salons, you never know just how much you relate to the person that’s sitting next to you.” The artist went further, saying, “Sometimes we walk into our hair salons with a lot on our minds — or maybe it’s a great day, you just never know. But you walk out of there feeling like a million bucks and not looking like anything that you’ve actually been through or going through at the moment.”
