Listening Sessions | Here Are Five Tracks You Need In Your Life

In case you didn’t know, we’re big fans of good, no great music. Weekly we compile the best of the best in new music into one playlist on Spotify we call ‘A Curation of Sound.’ However, every once in a while, we are compelled to take a closer look at some of the newer, maybe overlooked tracks that we’ve included. Today we take a closer examination of five tracks that we feel you need in your life.

These come from artists that you may, or may not, be familiar with, but they are tracks you should probably add to your listening rotation. For those who haven’t gotten familiar with artists like Kyle Dion and SAYGRACE, this is a great way to do so. You may have heard previous drops from TOKiMONSTA, but this one with Bibi Bourelly & Jean Deaux is something special. We’ve even got a new single from Glass Animals, as well as a track called “mOth” by Dua Selah.

“Play Too Much” by Kyle Dion

This man always delivers something worth listening to. “Play Too Much” is no different. The track is fun, soulful, slick, and highly contagious. Kyle gets this incredible mid-tempo backdrop to excel upon and provides another reason to be a fan. Sleep not on this one, or anything this man does.

“mOth” by Dua Saleh

In full transparency, we hadn’t encountered Dua Selah’s music before this track. This one sent us down a rabbit hole of exploration, and she’s one to keep an eye on. “mOth” is brooding and infectious. It has an undeniable grit, but it also has this uncanny smoothness that is impossible to pull away from. We’re looking forward to hearing more from Dua Selah in the future!

“Your Love (Deja Vu)” by Glass Animals

This one is nothing short of incredible. It’s energetic and soulful; it’s fun and amazing. Glass Animals always bring their a-game, but this track, in particular, is highly addictive. The single is the latest from Glass Animals, who serve up a dose of incredible drums and this old school sounding melodies. The combination is one worth your time and attention, as with anything Glass Animals create.

“Gone” by SAYGRACE

For anyone looking for an old school R&B sound with a modern sensibility, here you go. “Gone” finds SAYGRACE showing off her vocal prowess and range. She does so effortlessly and flawlessly while putting together something impressive. The track has this undeniable 90s sound, while SAYGRACE provides a great reason to be a fan. Smooth and on point, this one will be getting steady play around these parts!

“One Day” by TOKiMONSTA ft. Bibi Bourelly & Jean Deaux

Who doesn’t love TOKiMONSTA? Anything she does is amazing, and this new single is no different. The track finds TOKi providing the backdrop, an impressive one, to say the least, while Bibi Boureally and Jean Deaux showcase their respective talents behind the mic. The results are impeccable as all three do their thing rather well. This is certainly one we wouldn’t recommend sleeping on.
