Old School, New School | Vans Old Skool ‘Factory Floor’ size? Exclusive

Every shoe has a story for me. Whether it’s a memory of circling it in a catalog knowing I’d never get it, saving up for months only to learn they sold out immediately, or the joy of finally scoring that pair that would take your game to the next level; there’s a story attached. Some of these stories remain yet to be told while others were written long ago. The latter is precisely the case with the newest sizes? Exclusive release of the Vans Old Skool “Factory Floor.”

The ‘Factory Floor’ is built from a mash-up of materials that pays homage to the excess off-cuts that could’ve been found within the original Vans’ Anaheim Factory back in the 60s and 70s. An archival classic silhouette has been reworked to accommodate 13 different patterned and textured fabrics randomly arranged across the pair. Both shoes are entirely unique.

Time-honored vintage Vans fabrics are juxtaposed amongst modern snake and camo prints, classic checkered patterns, and premium denims and suede. The signature Old Skool side stripe retains its placement with a cut-and-paste finish that feels right at home amongst the artistic chaos adorning an iconic work of skate influenced art.

Upgrading the 2018 model, the Old Skool tooling has been swapped for the more premium Anaheim version. The foxing tape around the sole has switched to a bright blue, referencing the custom-made shoes produced in the original Anaheim Factory. An exclusive orange license plate is a nod to the celebration of sizes? 20th anniversary. The shoe is rad, but that’s not all they’re bringing to the party.

To commemorate the release, new content will be brought straight to you from sizes? featuring exclusive storytelling interviews from Vans HQ. Members from the Vans family will be sharing stories “From the Factory Floor” about their professional and personal experiences, the making of the Factory Floor shoes, and some fun snippets of Vans history that have remained lesser-known. Some familiar faces and behind the scenes Vans characters will be joining the sizes? film, including the son of founder Paul Van Doren, “Chief Fun Officer” Steve Van Doren. Historian Catherine Acosta and 41-year employee turned global ambassador Bob Provost lend a glimpse into the brand’s fast-paced past, and Designers Luis Torres and Rian Pozzebon shed some light on the design inspiration and process.

This release has promised to be completely unique and pretty special, with all the little touches included for this one. Make sure you’re ready. The Vans’ Old Skool ‘Factory Floor’ – size? Exclusive arrives in both men’s and women’s sizes and will be available to purchase from all size? stores from Thursday 15TH October, priced at £70.

Raffle entry opens on the size? launches app early October.
