The one and only Rubi Rose is back. After being named as an XXL Freshman for 2021, the artist is currently prepping her debut mixtape entitled For The Streets. Today Rubi is back with a brand new single influenced by pop culture references from her childhood. Rubi unleashes an infectious new track entitled “Wifey.” The single is driven around a sample of N*E*R*D’s 2001 single, “Lapdance.”
Driven by a familiar and contagious backdrop, the instrumental gives the artist a perfect home to showcase her talents. She effortlessly does her thing while also bringing the track to life with a fitting set of visuals. The clip takes cues from the original “Lapdance” video and Missy Elliot’s smash single, “Gossip Folks.” Rubi does her thing and does it well, putting together another solid example of her talents.
