The one, the only, Salaam Remi is back. This man has been quite busy these days, putting his touches on new projects with a handful of artists, and he’s back at it once again. Today Salaam Remi links up with Irie Love for an island-inspired new single entitled “Back Burner.”
The track finds Salaam again showing out behind the boards, cooking up “One of the sweetest, jazzy R&B reggae chunes you will ever hear,” so says the producer himself. The track is pushed by infectiously energetic drum work which is seamlessly paired with a laid back melody, offering a Summer-ready vibe. This refreshing pairing lends Irie Love with an incredible home to do her thing, and she effortless delivers. Salaam describes Irie’s sound, calling it “one of the sweetest voices I know.”
The track is smooth, a solid showcase of both of the artist’s talents while providing us with something cool and contagious for Summer. The track arrives following Salaam’s collaborative EP with Bodega BAMZ, Bodega’s Way, Northside of Linden, Westside of Slauson with Terrace Martin, and BoxTalk with Joell Ortiz.
