It’s been a pretty incredible year for Jennifer Lopez. Today, after weeks of speculation and rumors, the word comes down that Jennifer Lopez will perform at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show. J-Lo will hold down the halftime of Super Bowl LIV, alongside Shakira. Ms. Lopez has been all over the headlines recently, mainly for walking in the finale of Versace’s recent Milan Fashion Week show in a replica of her iconic green dress.
However, there has been a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding her performance in Hustlers. While several outlets have been reporting on J-Lo’s involvement in the 2020 Super Bowl, nothing official had come out. J-Lo decided to announce the news herself, while Pepsi followed up the announcement with confirmation. Pepsi, the official sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show, has confirmed J-Lo and Shakira will perform at the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Adam Harter, Senior Vice President, Sports, Media and Entertainment, PepsiCo spoke about the news. He stated: “We are so excited to announce that global superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will take the stage together for the very first time at the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show.” Jennifer Lopez also opened up about the news. She added, “Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl. And now it’s made even more special not only because it’s the NFL’s 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.”
