Sure, it’s still Summer, and it’s a hot one, but that doesn’t mean we can’t think ahead. PINTRILL and Alpha Industries have come together to create a unique CWU 45/P Space Race Flight Jacket which pays homage to Apollo 11‘s 50th anniversary. The jacket is inspired by the 1969 space race between the Soviet Union and the U.S., as well as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. The coat also celebrates current expeditions in reaching Mars. The duo offers the limited-edition jacket in black, while the body is adorned in badges inspired by stamps, posters, and merchandise from the event.
The design also includes the signature Alpha Industries flight jacket zip-pull is featured on the left arm, given an extraterrestrial tweak in the process. There is gray text which reads “WE COME IN PEACE” on a tag next to the standard “REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT” tag, adding more detail to the design ad keeping with the theme. PINTRILL also outfitted the jacket with a small planet pin on the central zipper and a spaceman on the collar, while a bevy of eye-catching, detailed patches are seen throughout. These include a plush moon character and a large real solar system graphic.
