Chicago’s very own, Vic Mensa is back. Not only does he return with some new music, he’s back with a special new collaboration. Vic is back with a contagious new single called “Shelter,” which features Chance The Rapper, with a little help from Wyclef Jean. Vic and Chance haven’t worked together on a track since 2013’s “Cocoa Butter Kisses” and “Tweakin.”
That all ends today as both artists showcase their respective talents and come together to create something exceptional. “Shelter” finds both artists bringing their a-game, cooking up a fine example of their lyrical prowess and delivery. The track is an introspective effort that finds the trio of artists speaking on protecting black lives in this country.
The track is pushed by this impressive and addictive backdrop of smooth melodies and crisp drum work. The combination provides the artists with an incredible home to excel, and they deliver flawlessly. Vic and Chance bring the bars, while Wyclef does what he does best.
