This past Friday marked the return of 21 Savage and Metro Boomin. The wordsmith and the producer aligned to drop off ‘Savage Mode II.’ The project is littered with contagious new material, but today we take a listen to one standout in particular. Today we take a deeper dive into “Mr. Right Now,” which finds 21 linking up with Toronto’s very own, Drake. The track finds the two sharing a smoothed out; trap meets R&B backdrop provided by Metro Boomin.
21 Savage leads things off his undeniable and contagious style, putting together some infectious bars and his unadulterated style. An incredibly catchy hook then comes in before Drake gets behind the mic to showcase his witty and silky delivery. As usual, he doesn’t disappoint, putting together a slick showcase of his talents along the way.
Drake rhymes: “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08 If you cool with it, baby, she can still play,” while touching on his past a bit in the process. The track is certainly one of the biggest standouts from 21 and Metro’s new project and its one we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.
