Back at it yet again, the brand with the three stripes is taking us back to 1986. Today adidas is back with a brand new collection with none other than Run-DMC. The collection takes us back to the 1986’s “My adidas,” when the adidas Superstar became a staple in hip-hop. The two have worked together on several capsule collections through the years, and they return with another.
This time around, they link up to celebrate a shared history, as well as the Superstar’s 50th anniversary. The new capsule collection features a special set of sneakers plus retro-inspired apparel. The collection is host to an old school aesthetic and appeal, boasting stunning attention to detail throughout. The collection is comprised of two Superstar 50s, one in a white/black colorway and a black/white iteration. The accents are entirely new, rocking Run-DMC branding on the midfoot, tongue, and sock liner. The white pair features red on the heel tab, while the black pair pays homage to Jam Master Jay with his portrait on the tongue.
The capsule features a satin varsity jacket and a Sneakersnstuff-exclusive reissue of the memorable “Kings from Queens” crew neck on the apparel side of things. Elsewhere we see two fleece hoodies and three T-shirts.
