After first sightings in January, A-COLD-WALL*’s “Solarised” Nike Zoom Vomero +5 has once again landed in late July. We’ve now had a chance to take them in in full detail, and we’re over the moon for these.
The earth tone and precious metal color scheme. The design has these shoes looking like a standard issue for a mission to Mars. The London based design label has taken this familiar running platform and transformed it into something intergalactic and incredibly unique. Each shoe made using a hand-dyed technique for a one of a kind and eye-catching result. That dye technique also leads to an evolving color palette that changes with time and environmental exposures. A matching dark red sock liner and laces accentuate the otherworldly vibe as they compliment the clay-colored midsole, as well as copper brass and gold upper accents. Reflective details ensure you’ll be seen on the dark side of the moon too.
A Black ACW heel counter was added to the Nike Zoom Vomero +5 as well. The heel counter can be permanently removed to expose a black grid pattern reinforcement on the heel. While visually stunning, this shoe was originally intended for off-road abuse. This design collaboration design seems like it will be right at home on a nasty trail run or establishing an outpost on an interplanetary excursion.
Much like a meteor shower or a near-earth comet, this drop is incredibly rare. Keep your eyes on the sky, or in this case, the A-COLD-WALL* web store for future offerings if they decide to drop again.
