With the holiday season officially upon us, adidas returns with a dose of festive style. This time around adidas Originals returns with a look at the “Christmas Monster” iteration of the iconic Stan Smith. The brand with the three stripes draws inspiration from the classic 1984 film Gremlins and its Mogwai characters. The silhouette remains the same, though the aesthetics are drawn directly from the character Gizmo.
The sneaker is seen with an upper of faux hair in brown and cream colors. This mimics Gizmo’s fur, while other details around the sneaker pay homage to the iconic film. The sneakers arrive with an asymmetrical design. The lateral of one side features brown faux fur, while the other side features cream faux fur.
The kicks are also seen without the perforated Three Stripe detailing, an OG Stan Smith stamp on the tongue, and a Trefoil stamp on the heel. The sneakers do, however, feature Gremlins’ eyes on the heel tabs and insoles that are the same tone as the character’s skin. The silhouette features a GORE-TEX construction, which means they are as durable as they are eye-catching.
