Owning Art! Futura To Release Limited Edition ‘Harajuku’ Print

The artist known as Futura is back! To celebrate the artist’s first-ever monograph published by Rizzoli, MCA Chicago is partnering with the artist. Together they will release a limited-edition Harajuku screen print. The edition features a composition that includes the artist’s familiar symbology and abstract designs with colorful spray-painted motifs.

Futura will release 50 of these exclusive prints on the MCA store website. Each collectible poster retails for $1,250 USD and will go on sale today. The book Futura: The Artist’s Monograph will also be available for purchase. The pages include unseen, published reproductions of the artist’s earlier paintings and drawings. The book also features contributions by Takashi Murakami, Virgil Abloh, Agnès b, and Jeffrey Deitch. It even includes an archive of personal photography and related visual material, chronicling the artist’s career as both a graffiti writer and contemporary artist.

Rizzoli released a statement that reads: “Guided through more than forty years of work, and with interviews with key players in Futura’s career, this is at once a definitive monograph of a legend of contemporary art and an indispensable chapter in the history of graffiti.”

Check out the Harajuku print and Rizzoli monograph in the images, and head over to MCA Chicago to find out more immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news and art drops coming very soon.
