It’s been a minute since we last heard from Bas. Today that all changes as the Dreamville representative makes his return to the interwebs with a brand new single. The wordsmith makes his highly-anticipated return with a smooth new effort entitled “The Jackie.” The track is the latest single from Bas, who pairs up with J. Cole and Lil Tjay for something quite impressive.
The track was produced by T-Minus and engineered by the one and only, MixedByAli. The track is pushed by these catchy melodic elements, which are seamlessly paired with some snappy, energetic drum sections. The backdrop allows for the trio to showcase their respective talents, and they do so quite well.
Bas raps: “I’m on the way, send me the addy, I’m on the Jackie Five on the belt, ten on the jacket, you gotta have me. It’s been a day, I don’t wanna wait no more.” J. Cole holds down the hook before Lil Tjay shows off his talents behind the mic.
J. Cole then bats clean up, ending the track while rapping: “I’m lettin’ you know, I gotta stay down on the road I’m lettin’ you know, she gotta lockdown while I’m gone We don’t do average shit, I got a magic stick, can’t you see? Whole lot of lavish shit, used to not havin’ shit, no, no, no.”
