Celebrating An Icon | The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Big Stage”

The good folks over at Nike are back at it again. Since Kobe Bryant’s tragic passing early in 2020, his signature Nike basketball line’s future has been a bit mysterious. Nike quiets the noise with a look at their latest design, the Kobe 5 Proto “Big Stage.” The eye-catching new iteration pays homage to the legendary star, boasting a sleek and stylish approach.

While some of the Mamba’s loyal fans have called for Nike to continue releasing his footwear, others have argued the line should be shelved out of respect. Nike’s “Big Stage” Kobe 5 Protro celebrates Kobe and all his accomplishments on the court. The sneakers come rocking a white, black, and gold color scheme, drawing inspiration from other Kobe 5 releases.

The sneaker is a combination of the Kobe 5 “Big Stage Home” and Bryant’s “Parade” PE. The result is a slick and eye-catching new silhouette that is sure to elevate your style. The sneaker uses bold “Parade” print in black instead of PE blue on the left shoe’s lateral side. The right side features a flip of the script with crisp tonal “Big Stage” hits. The tongue and laces alternate black and white on the left and white and black on the right. The swooshes and heels are uniform across both feet with a hue. The sneakers are finished off with EVA midsoles, with a 50/50 black and white mix. Clean, classic, and contemporary; these are certainly a great way to elevate your sneaker collection. The sneakers are out now and can be found at Nike and select retailers such as Nice Kicks.

Take a closer look at the new sneakers in the images below and look for much more from Nike coming soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for all the best in style and sneakers.
