The west coast’s very own, Ty Dolla $ign makes his return to the interwebs. Today the singer/songwriter returns with a brand new single, serving up a smooth new cut called “Ego Death.” The track is the latest from Ty Dolla $ign, who is currently putting his third album together. “Ego Death” is the project’s latest release, which features the likes of Kanye West, FKA Twigs, and Skrillex.
The four artists come together and bring their respective talents, which results in something we can’t seem to get enough of. Ty recently spoke about the single and working with Ye during a chat with Zane Lowe.
The artist stated: “Every time me and Ye get together, I feel like we just make something great.” He also spoke about how this new single came together. Ty said, “Basically, I was at a party, and I don’t remember. I heard some girls saying something about some guy, like, “Oh, that’s the death of his ego.” I remembered that when I got to the house. I’m like, “Wow, that’s hard.” It’s like I had the song Ego Death, and then I made the beat.”
He went on to say, “Then I was watching Instagram, and there was some video of Ye walking through Chicago. Then he was like, “Hold up. There’s a train going by.” I thought that was so hard, just seeing him just walking through Chicago by himself.”
The track is smooth, to say the least, driven by some snappy, menacing drum sections paired with some infectious and intense melodies. The four artists showcase their talents flawlessly and put together something we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on.
