With #OurOcala expanding, evolving, and changing rapidly, we wanted to showcase the best of everything offered in the area. We partnered with the good folks over at Ocala Main Street for the Downtown Burger Tour. Each week we visit a different destination in downtown Ocala and try out their best burgers, giving you a breakdown of what to expect, as well as providing several reasons why you should try it for yourself. This week we stop by one of our favorite downtown locations, La Cuisine – French Restaurant.
La Cuisine has been a staple of downtown Ocala since opening its doors in 2009. Patrice Perron, Executive Chef, and Proprietor at La Cuisine offers an incredible selection of culinary creations that will leave you satisfied and stuffed! Both Patrice and Elodie Perron work seamlessly together to create a unique dining experience that is always on point. Sure, a French restaurant might now be the place you think of for a good burger, but we’re here to change your mind!
With a menu that includes escargots, frog legs, country-style pate, and steak tartare, hamburgers are the last thing most would expect to enjoy. However, we visited La Cuisine to dive into their brunch burgers, which had heard so much about. LC’s Burger, as it is known, comes in several variations. The burger itself is crafted from fresh, in-house ground beef, which is cooked to order and served on a brioche bun. It’s topped with peppercorn mayo and your choice of cheddar or swiss cheese. To take things up a notch, you can also add french blue cheese, cured pork belly, a fried farm egg, or bacon; or all of the above. The patty itself is packed with flavor. The burger is big, but not too big, boasting a savory, hearty appeal that we couldn’t get enough of!
Brunch & Burgers Downtown!
LC’s Burger might be the best one we’ve had yet. It’s an experience, not just a hamburger, and it’s one we’ll certainly be back for! It’s rich in flavor, robust, and filling. It also goes flawlessly with their selection of brunch mimosa’s. While we typically wouldn’t expect to order a hamburger at a fine French establishment, La Cuisine has changed everything, adding a gourmet touch to a staple of Summer.
We also sat down and spoke to Patrice about LC’s Burger and the inspiration behind it. He opened up about the variations of the burger and spoke in-depth about what makes it so great! La Cuisine has become a staple of #OurOcala and the culinary scene in Florida. The restaurant has won four Golden Spoon Awards from Florida Trend Magazine, three years in a row, and continues to showcase amazing culinary creations across the board.
