If you haven’t yet gotten acquainted with the sounds of Chiiild, you are missing out. Today the duo is back with something new for our listening enjoyment, serving up a brand new album, their debut album, entitled Hope For Sale. The new album arrives after the Montreal-bred, L.A.-based duo’s Synthetic Soul EP from last year. Yoni Ayal and Pierre-Luc Rioux take things to a new level, this time with new sounds of smooth vibes.
Ayal spoke with Apple Music about the album. He stated: “Musically, it’s about chasing a certain feeling that you had when growing up.” The artist went on to say, “I didn’t realize how much nostalgia was a part of my palette. I wanted this record to reflect this moment. If you listen to this record and remember this time, I feel like I’ve done my job. And when I listen to this record in 10 years, I’m going to remember this moment, and it’s going to be a special experience for myself. And I hope it is for everyone else.”
The project is loaded with some excellent new material. The album features eleven new tracks, including the previously-released singles: “Sleepwalking,” “Eventually,” “Gone,” and “Awake” with Mahalia. Some of our favorites include “Weightless” and “Lotus.”
