Court-Ready | Under Armour Introduces The Curry 7

As the Golden State Warriors prep to kick off the 2019/2020 NBA season, Under Armour is back. Today the brand has readied the next signature silhouette for Steph Curry, offering a first look at the Curry 7 and the debut “UNDRTD” colorway. The Curry 7 is a low top design that combines deeply personal details with the best performance tech Under Armour has to offer. The sneakers were designed by Leon Gu, who ensured that the Curry 7 could match Steph’s style of play. The sneaker features multiple components that offer a functional, technical design that offers excellent comfort and cushioning.

The sneakers are host to UA’s proprietary HOVR directly under the foot and Micro G foam technologies toward the floor. These two elements are separated with a flexible plate, offering both a soft and responsive approach. The modified herringbone pattern on the outsole complements the cushion, offering three different layers of radial traction for wide-reaching grip. The upper uses a combination of layered mesh and foam, offering a balance of lightweight breathability and substantial support.

The forefoot is constructed of a lightweight textile which is reinforced with a translucent TPU skin. The kicks are also host to the Curry family on the heel’s pull tab, thanks to three characters that represent his children. We see a wolf for son Canon, a unicorn for daughter Riley, and a butterfly for daughter Ryan. Steph spoke about the Curry 7 recently. He stated: “The assist from the Curry 7 to help me be more explosive, more powerful and to have a quicker reaction time off of the ground is important as I look ahead to the new season, and is intuitive enough to help any basketball player looking for best-in-class responsiveness and stability from their footwear.” Gu spoke about the silhouette, as well. The designer added, “We’re proud of how the Curry signature footwear line has evolved and believe the Curry 7 will be a fan favorite. Each colorway balances on-trend aesthetics with performance innovations based around Stephen’s suggestions for improved on-court play.”

The “UNDRTD” Curry 7 will drop on November 1st, while more colorways are set to roll out during the season. Take a closer look at the silhouette in the images below and head over to Under Armour to find out more. Keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from new footwear coming soon.
