We’ve been patiently awaiting a new project from New York City’s own, Dave East. While he’s been expanding his horizon’s as of late, we’ve been waiting on Def Jam debut for a minute now. Today the lyricist is back with a solid new single, which further builds the hype for his upcoming album. The wordsmith has been quite busy, currently starring in Hulu’s series Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Today the New York City native returns with a new single entitled “Alone.” The track arrives as it looks like the lyricist will finally release his Def Jam debut, Survival.
The track finds Dave linking up with Jacquees, serving up a dose of their respective talents over top of quite the instrumental. The track is built upon a sample of Jodeci’s “Feenin” as Dave and Jacquees bring their respective talents to the track. The backdrop provides the duo to excel. Dave brings his lyrical prowess, showcasing his delivery and flow, while Jacquees brings the vocals. The fellas sound good together, getting a flawless backdrop to excel upon. The single arrives after Dave East’s collaboration with A$AP Ferg and follows up his Survival Pacc effort. The collaboration is contagious and quite smooth, something we’re sure to have in steady rotation moving forward.
