New York City’s very own, Dave East is back! The wordsmith has been busy as of late, showing off his acting chops while gearing up to drop off some new music. Today Mr. East is back, linking up with a New York City legend on his latest single, “Godfather IV.” The track finds Dave pairing up with the one and only, Nas, serving up a dose of their lyrical prowess in the process. Dave is gearing up to drop off ‘Survival’ on November 8th, and he builds the hype with this, “Godfather IV.”
The track has an old school appeal that we can’t get enough of, and both MC’s bring their a-game. The track’s arrangement provides the duo with plenty of space to showcase their respective talents, and they don’t disappoint. Both of these artists are able to paint vivid pictures with their wordplay, and this track is a prime example. Nas raps: “My dead granddad came to my cousin through a psychic,” adding, “I don’t really like it, pay prices for afterlife advices.” Dave East holds his own with the NYC legend as the two showcase their craftsmanship and quality talents behind the mic.
