Martin Scorsese has a catalog of classic films, and this is no secret. Every time Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorsese team up, it’s legendary. The two have been apart of a handful of cinema’s best films, From Taxi Driver to Goodfellas. It’s been over two decades since the duo have worked together, but that ends soon. The duo joins forces on ‘The Irishman.’ Alongside DeNiro, the star-studded film stars Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel.
With a cast of superstars, the film tells the story of World War II veteran turned mob hitman Frank Sheeran. DeNiro plays the cold-blooded executioner while Pacino takes on the role of the notorious mob-connected union boss Jimmy Hoffa. We’ve all heard the story, but now we get even closer to one of the biggest murder mysteries of our modern times.
The first trailer offers a closer look at what we can expect. Packed with some intense action, the clip certainly builds the hype for the upcoming film. DeNiro and Pacino bring their respective characters to life like never before, providing an interesting look at quite a compelling story. The film spans decades, so Scorsese used advanced VFX technology to de-age his veteran actors. This one is sure to be a serious Oscar contender, and one we’ll surely be hitting the theaters to check out.
