Kota the Friend & Statik Selektah – ‘To Kill a Sunrise’

The one and only, Kota the Friend, is back. After unleashing an impressive opus last year entitled, Everything, Kota is back at it once again. After kicking off the year with Lyrics To Go Vol. 2, the artist has now linked up with Statik Selektah for a new project. The two have aligned for ‘To Kill a Sunrise.’ The new project finds the two serving up a fresh batch of new material for our listening pleasures.

The ten-track opus follows up Statik’s latest album, ‘The Balancing Act,’ and collaborations with Termanology, CJ Fly, and Paul Wall. This new project features ten brand new tracks with Kota behind the mic and Statik behind the boards. Kota holds things down on his own, short of one guest feature from Haile Supreme. He shows off his depth, his lyrical prowess, and his effortless appeal behind the mic throughout. Some of our favorites include “Hate,” “The Cold,” “What ya Sayin’,” and “Sunrise.”

This is something we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on. Check out the impressive new project, ‘To Kill A Sunrise,’ in the stream below, and look for more from Kota in the future. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for all the best new music coming very soon.
