From 2011 to 2013, the UK-based series Top Boy was a critically-acclaimed crime drama series. The show was abruptly canceled after just two seasons, leaving fans wondering why and if it would ever return. Back in 2017, Drake pledged to bring the show back and now, after six years its anticipated third season has arrived. With the arrival of the show to Netflix, OVO Sound and Drake have released an accompanying soundtrack for the season.
The ‘Top Boy’ soundtrack features a slew of UK-based artists, including the likes of Dave, Headie One, Fredo, AJ Tracey, Baka Not Nice, Popcaan and Little Simz. Drake even chimes in with a brand new track, called “Behind Barz” (which is actually a 2018 accent-loaded freestyle). The project is filled with impressive new material, including a who’s who of UK artists. The soundtrack is sure to fit nicely with the show, which is available today on Netflix. Drake and OVO Sound always deliver something worth rocking with, and this is no different.
