We might not get a lot of new material from N.O.R.E. these days, but every once in awhile he supplies something new. Today the legendary wordsmith returns, unleashing a new single for our listening enjoyment called “Energy”. While N.O.R.E. has been busy with his Drink Champs podcast, he takes some time to serve up a new banger for our listening pleasures. The track finds N.O.R.E. going in over top of a vintage Marley Marl cut.
The Queens representative unleashes a dose of his lyrical prowess. He speaks about his come-up and the success he’s had over the years. N.O.R.E. raps, “Nas interview, millions in a week/ Since it dropped, me and Fox don’t speak.” He goes on to add “Nicki went to jail, we laugh and respected that/ Queens get the money, that’s first, never neglected that / Fat Joe squashed it with Jay, I connected that/ Both sides have respect for the god, and I accepted that.”
N.O.R.E. not only shows off his lyrical abilities, but he also shows off his growth as a person as well. This dude never disappoints, and he certainly doesn’t start. Noreaga takes to the classic instrumental and weaves together a solid example of his lyrical talents and delivery. Don’t sleep on this one.
